Speaker Bios:
Peter Kristian joined the staff of Hilton Head Plantation as its General Manager in February of 2000. Prior to his arrival to Hilton Head Plantation Peter was with the Montgomery Village Foundation, a large-scale, self-managed Homeowners Association in suburban Maryland, for sixteen years. He was an active member of Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Peter served on the Washington Metropolitan Chapter's Legislative committee and co-chaired CAI's Maryland Legislative Action Committee; Peter was appointed by the Montgomery County Executive as a Commissioner to the Montgomery County Commission on Common Ownership Communities. He served as Chair of that Commission in 1998 and 1999.
Peter serves as Chair of CAI National's Government and Public Affairs committee, serves on the Federal LAC, the Large-Scale Managers Committee which he served as past chair, and is the past Chair CAI National’s Audit Committee. Peter served as a National Trustee of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) for six years and served as the President of CAI National in 2007. Peter was also on the Board of the Association of Professional Community Managers from 2005 to 2006. Peter was appointed by the Mayor of the Town of Hilton Head to represent the interests of all the Planned Unit Developments within the Town of Hilton Head on the Mayor’s Task Force for the Future. Peter presently serves as Secretary of the South Carolina Legislative Action Committee. Peter has received numerous National Awards including Author of the Year, Excellence in Designations, Excellence is Government and Public Affairs and the President’s Award. In 2019 Peter was honored by the Board of Trustees with CAI’s highest recognition the Distinguished Service Award for his many contributions to the Institute and the community association industry.

Chip currently serves as the general manager of Las Campanas Master Association and manages the daily operations encompassing approximately 5000 acres divided into gated estates. The master plan allows for 1717 residential lots which surround two renowned Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses, a peerless equestrian center and spa. He has managed large-scale communities throughout the country for more than 13 years.
He serves as the Vice Chair of CAI’s Large-Scale Managers Committee and has been a speaker and presenter at CAI Conferences and Workshops.

Jeff managed a Large-Scale Planned Community in Northeastern Pennsylvania for thirty years. Has consulted with Associations for the past ten years working on projects in eighteen states helping Associations to move forward. Co-hosted the Large-Scale Managers Workshop in 1988, 1999 and 2012.

Bill is a strategic, financial and architectural planning consultant for planned communities and private clubs throughout North America. The McMahon Group was started in 1983 as an affiliate of the family architectural firm his grandfather founded in 1906.The McMahon Group has assisted over 2,000 planned communities and private clubs in planning strategically for the future. He has been a featured speaker at conferences for the Club Managers Association of America, the Canadian Society of Club Managers, the National Club Association and the Hospitality, Financial and Technology Professionals.

Jimmy Bailey has managed Charleston, SC area large-scale associations for the last fifteen years, first at Daniel Island, and the last eight years at Kiawah Island. On Kiawah, he supervises a team of 100+ full time employees who manage the 10,000-acre gated community. The Kiawah Island Community Association has an annual budget of $16 Million, which funds a robust major repair and replacement program for the community’s infrastructure. Jimmy has been active in the Large-Scale Managers community, having hosted the 2016 Large-Scale Managers Workshop and serving on the Large-Scale Managers Committee.

Wendy has been serving as the General Manager of South Riding Proprietary since June 2007. Prior to working at South Riding, Wendy was the CEO of a gated country club community in Boca Raton Florida. Wendy brings over 20 years of association management experience and is active in the Community Associations Institute (CAI). She served on the National Board of Trustees and is an instructor of several of CAI’s management courses. Wendy served for two years on CAI’s Virginia Legislative Action Committee and is currently a member of the Government and Public Policy for CAI National. Wendy carries the professional designations of Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) and is one of less than 200 Community Managers holding the Large-Scale Manager (LSM) designation.
