Learn about the role of legal counsel in preparing communities for new legislation on the horizon.
Speakers:
- Dawn Bauman, CAE, Community Associations Institute, Falls Church, VA; is the lead industry advocate for federal, state and local and state legislative and regulatory issues facing the community association housing model. Bauman works with hundreds of volunteer leaders throughout the country serving on CAI legislative action committees and CAI government affairs committees to advocate for strong and sensible public policy for America and Canada’s community associations. Bauman has been with the Community Associations Institute since 1996 holding several positions. Bauman has dedicated her career to the practice of non-profit management and advocacy has more than 20 years of experience with non-profit organizations and associations. She began her career with the American Cancer Society and has since served as executive director for The ALS Association (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Valley of the Sun, Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, National Society of Fund Raising Executives, and Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. Bauman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has earned the prestigious Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.
- Matt D. Ober, Esq., Richardson | Ober PC, Pasadena, CA; brings to Richardson Harman Ober PC over two decades of extensive experience in common interest development law, residential and commercial real estate litigation, construction contracts and defect claims recovery, and general corporate and business law. Ober presides over the Firm’s highly regarded community association law practice, providing full service representation to common interest developments throughout Southern California.
- Amy Tinetti, Esq., Hughes Gill Cochrane Tinetti, Walnut Creek, CA; joined Hughes Gill Cochrane in 2007, and became a Principal in 2012. She has been representing homeowners associations since 2004 in all aspects of their corporate operations, including governing document analysis, interpretation, revision and enforcement, elections, real property and title issues, planning and collection of large special assessments, analyzing and drafting agreements with vendors, and member disputes and litigation.
