Speakers
Dave Caplan has been involved with real estate all his life. Dave is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®), an Association Management Specialist (AMS®) and has been awarded the designation of PCAM® (Professional Community Association Manager) by the Community Associations Institute. The PCAM designation is the highest credential awarded in the industry. He has worked as a manager of Home Owner Association's and Condominiums for over 20 years. Dave has just been elected to become the President of the Community Associations Institute in 2015. He began his career working with his family building homes, apartments, office parks and shopping centers along with the management needed to run each effectively. Dave has a background in civil engineering gained through practical experience coupled with course work..
Jim Dodson is the Executive Director of a 7,600 home planned community, and has nearly 40 years of professional management experience, during which he owned his own management company for 22 years and obtained his PCAM, CPM, LSM, and CCAM. He is a CAI Trustee, former vice president of FCAR, former Chair of the FCAR Fund Raising Committee, a former director on CAI’s APCM Board, Chair of the Large-Scale Managers Education Committee, an active member of the Large-Scale Manager’s Committee, host chair for the 2013 LSM Workshop in Honolulu, and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business honors society.
