Program Description
This session explores significant legal cases involving critical aspects of association risk management and insurance such as property losses, liability claims, directors and officers litigation, mechanical breakdown, and recent important insurance trends. Gain a better understanding of not only the mechanics of insurance coverage litigation, but also of insurance coverages as seen in the context of litigation.
Speakers:
George E. Nowack, Jr., Esq. has dedicated his entire legal career to representing community associations. George began representing associations in 1981 at the law firm Hyatt & Rhoads, PC, which was one of the first firms in the United States to represent homeowner and condominium associations. In 1991, George founded the Community Association Practice at Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco, P.C., where he practiced for 25 years. George and his law partner Julie Howard formed NowackHoward, LLC in October 2016 after working together for 20 years at WNCW.
Jennifer Wojciechowski, JD is a Claims Manager - Casualty at Community Association Underwriters of America, Inc. Ms. Wojciechowski manages a team of liability claim handlers at CAU. She conducts insurance coverage analyses and manages claims and litigation in connection with Directors & Officers Liability and General Liability insurance coverage. Prior to joining CAU, Ms. Wojciechowski was an attorney with the Philadelphia law firm of White & Williams where she was a member of the Commercial Litigation Department and, specifically, the Business Insurance and Bad Faith Litigation Practice Group.
