It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. The Community Association Law Seminar Planning Committee is proud to present the first of its new lineup for the annual event’s most favored session. CCAL fellows Scott B. Carpenter and Loura K. Sanchez host Part I of the Case Law Update, a discussion of significant cases that shaped community association law in 2016. In addition to reviewing individual cases, this session examines emerging trends in association jurisprudence.

Program Description
It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. The Community Association Law Seminar Planning Committee is proud to present the first of its new lineup for the annual event’s most favored session. CCAL fellows Scott B. Carpenter and Loura K. Sanchez host Part I of the Case Law Update, a discussion of significant cases that shaped community association law in 2016. In addition to reviewing individual cases, this session examines emerging trends in association jurisprudence.
Speakers
Scott Carpenter focuses primarily on general counsel, corporate and transactional matters, complex litigation, business advice, transactions, employment issues and conflict resolution and avoidance for condominiums, homeowners associations, planned community associations, cooperatives, churches and other nonprofit clients. As the author of Community Association Law in Arizona, published by the State Bar of Arizona, Scott is highly regarded on community association matters.
Loura K. Sanchez, Esq. is the Managing Partner with the law firm of HindmanSanchez P.C., in Denver, Colorado. Her practice emphasizes the preventive aspects of the operation of community associations. She has 20+ years experience counseling associations on all facets of community association law - from collections to covenant enforcement as well as strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational challenges.
David J. Graf, Esq. has practiced community association law exclusively since 2001. In this time, he has represented a wide range of communities throughout the State of Colorado. The majority of his practice involves interpreting and amending governing documents, advising associations on the corporate aspects of running a common interest community, and enforcing the terms of governing documents through court action. He has attended countless difficult and contentious board and member meetings on behalf of associations.
J. David Ramsey, Esq. is a shareholder in the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff, LLP, in Morristown, New Jersey. David has practiced law since 1976, with his areas of specialty in community association law, land use and development. David is a past president of the Community Associations Institute, a national educational and advocacy association for community associations, and a past president of the New Jersey Chapter of CAI.
