Program Description
Business and personal ethics in the community association profession has never been more important. This presentation will include best practices for developing and implementing an Ethics Program for managers and boards, including the Attorney's role in navigating those contractual and ethical issues. This session will include actual examples and guidelines for anticipating and identifying ethical challenges. It will also take an advanced-level view of decision making in our profession, including how to recognize a "red-flag".
Speakers
Sandra K. Denton, CMCA, LSM, PCAM is currently the General Manager for Sienna Plantation Residential Association (SPRAI) in Missouri City, Texas. Sienna is a large master planned community encompassing over 10,000 acres and currently has approximately 6,000 houses. Prior to joining Sienna in January, 2005, she was the Executive Director for First Colony Community Association (FCCA) in Sugar Land, Texas, a very large master planned community consisting of over 10,000 acres and approximately 12,500 units (residential and commercial).
Brady E. Ortego, Esq. is a shareholder within the firm’s Real Estate Section and manages a team of professionals and paraprofessionals that assists the firm’s clients in all aspects of Community Association Law. His practice focuses on representing developers in acquisition of large tracts of land and guides them through the creation of master planned communities throughout Texas. Brady also counsels Boards of Directors of condominium associations, and both residential and commercial community associations through corporate issues, litigation avoidance, collection/foreclosure, bankruptcy and complex contractual negotiations.
