Program Description
The most common ethical complaints in the community association industry involve managers who fail to act professionally. This interactive session features case studies from complaints received by CAI (and CAMICB), and introduces interactive discussion about the right and wrong methods to use when interacting with clients and competitors, and how to avoid—and respond to—ethics complaints.
Speakers:
- Drew Mulhare, CMCA, LSM, PCAM, Broker (Va) is the President and co-owner of Realtec Community Services, the management company for the Ford’s Colony at Williamsburg Homeowners Association, and serves the FCHOA as its General Manager. Ford’s Colony is a Large Scale, gated community with more than 3000 owners. Ford’s Colony is a winner of the CAI Large Scale Association of the Year. Mulhare came to Ford’s Colony in 1984 to manage the development, regulatory affairs and homeowner association for the new community. He was the real estate broker for Ford's Colony Realty for a number of years. Mulhare’s volunteer work included CAI’s Board of Trustees and the Central Virginia Chapter Board. Mulhare currently serves on the CAI National Faculty and Large Scale Managers Committee. He is the Chair of Community Association Managers International Certification Board, as well as its Standards of Professional Conduct Compliance Committee. He also serves CAMICB on the Exam Development Committee.
- Jessica Towles, CMCA, AMS, PCAM has been in the community association management industry for 18 years with experience maintaining all aspects of community associations and management company administration, including facilities management, financial management and customer retention. Her credentials include Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®), Association Management Specialist (AMS®), and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®), and Illinois CAM license. In addition to her role with Lieberman Management Services, Ms. Towles currently serves on the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Board of Trustees, the Board for the Association of Professional Community Managers, the CAI Illinois Board of Directors, and as a member of the National Faculty for CAI, specializing in the M:100 The Essentials of Community Association Management. In 2014 she was honored to receive CAI’s Rising Star Award at the National Conference and the CAI Illinois Olympus Award for her work both locally and nationally for CAI.
