Program Description
Finding volunteers, motivating them, directing them, and maintaining their interest in both volunteering and the community can be a challenge for any community association manager. Learn how to understand volunteers, pinpoint what motivates them, and how a community association can thrive by building a platform for future success in volunteer development.
Speakers:
- Kathy Gonzales, CMCA, CAE is the Executive Director of the Orange County Regional Chapter of CAI. In her role at the chapter, she has helped develop the chapter’s committees and board development strategies. She currently serves on the board of the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) as Treasurer. Kathy is a frequent presenter to trade and professional associations on a variety of topics that help associations advance their missions.
- Julie McGhee Howard, Esq.*, NowackHoward, LLC, Atlanta, GA has extensive experience advising community associations through every-day issues, document amendments, contract review and negotiation, covenant enforcement, Fair Housing Act claims, insurance defense, collections, and bankruptcy cases. Julie also regularly assists Boards of Directors with parliamentary procedure for annual and special meetings and enjoys keeping Boards up-to-date on community association law hot topics and trends. Since 1998, Julie has been a licensed instructor for the Georgia Real Estate Commission, teaching the Community Association Managers' Pre-License Course and continuing education courses to Georgia's community association managers throughout each year.
